Thumbnail Designer

What we’re looking for

We want a designer whose thumbnails communicate a video's promise at a glance. Show us actual thumbnail work with strong composition, typography, colour, contrast and visual hierarchy. The decisions behind the image matter as much as the software used to make it. You should be able to separate subjects from backgrounds, manipulate and retouch images, adjust lighting and create a convincing finished composition. Understand what stays readable at small thumbnail sizes and how to create curiosity without misleading clickbait. Be able to recreate the qualities of a reference style without directly copying it. TOOLS YOU SHOULD KNOW Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, including detailed image manipulation, is expected. Adobe Illustrator is an advantage. AI image-generation or editing tools can also help, but they do not replace Photoshop-level control and judgement. HOW WE WORK Be reliable, meet deadlines, pay attention to detail and implement feedback thoughtfully. Bring a willingness to learn and improve. Portfolio quality matters more than certificates. • Reliable communication, attention to detail, meeting deadlines and the ability to receive and implement feedback.
